After some thought my wife and I decided to look for a folding camper, you know the sort of thing half tent half caravan, anyway after much looking and travelling to view via ebay etc, we decided on a Pennine Pullman.

Many of the ones we looked at within our budget (£1250) were in need of some work in one form or another and a fairly newish one was out of reach financially. So one day whilst chatting to a neighbour he informed us of a friend of his who had one on his drive, unloved and unused for a good few years. We decided to go round with him and introduce ourselves before looking at the trailer.

After looking over it was obvious it needed a bit of work, so a price was agreed and for the grand sum of £75.00 we were the new owners of a 1980's Pennine Pullman 6 berth folding camper.

The day after gettiing it home we set it up on the drive and had a good proper look at what we had got. Well we got a usable if old and dated camper in need of some repair so got a pen and paper and made a list of what needs to be done;

Rewire and replace all trailer lights.
Replace/repair a section of floor by the door.
Install 240v sockets and consumer unit.
Replace the floor covering.
Update furniture and fittings.
Overhaul trailer bearings and brakes.
Install 12v leisure battery and charging circuit for fridge,water pump and interior lights.
Most importantly get the tent canvas repaired, this will be the expensive bit but a new canvas is good for 10 years or more if looked after.

All this work except for the canvas repair will be undertaken by us both in a storage container we have rented for a while, our progress will be updated with pics as we go along.
